Dixie Larson, 76, of Peru, IN, passed away at 12:34 PM, Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Dukes Memorial Hospital. She was born in Peru on September 12, 1936 the daughter of Richard and Mary Brant Waite. Dixie married Robert C. Larson at the St. Charles Catholic Church on June 7, 1958 and he preceded her in death on October 30, 2008.

Dixie was a 1954 graduate of Peru High School and attended Western Michigan University and Butler University, where she was a member of Gamma Nu Sorority. She was employed at Grissom Air Force Base until her retirement in 2001.

She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an avid bridge player, playing in numerous bridge clubs in the community.

Dixie and her husband Bob lovingly raised two children. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother; family and friends were a priority to her and her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Surviving is a daughter Ingrid Kuepper and her husband Michael of Peru; a son Jan Larson and his wife Diane of New Palestine, IN; a sister-in-law, Muriel Carlton and her husband John of Sahuarita, AZ; and grandchildren Alex Kuepper, Andrew Kuepper, Emilee Larson and Brant Larson.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Dixie Larson will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church, 102 West Main Street, Peru with Pastor Stephen Quinlan officiating. Family and friends will gather from 5:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main Street, Peru.

Memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the First Presbyterian Church.
