Betty Haynes, 87, formerly of Converse, IN, passed away at 3:56 PM, Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Worthington House in Camby, IN. She was born in Miami County, IN on April 21, 1925 the daughter of Ralph and Bessie Loy Garber. Betty married Charles Richard Haynes in 1945 and he preceded her in death in April 1983.

Betty was a 1943 graduate of Converse High School and a member of the Converse Christian Church. She enjoyed playing bridge, bowling and playing cards with her grandchildren.

Betty is survived by a son Judd Haynes and his wife Judy of Mooresville, IN; a daughter-in-law Karen Haynes of Converse; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a brother Bert Garber of Converse. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, a son David Richard Haynes, and three brothers Hack, Frank and Don Garber.

A service celebrating the life of Betty Haynes will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, 201 North Main Street, Amboy, IN with Pastor Dwight Elliott officiating. Burial will be at the Converse Cemetery, Converse. Family and friends will gather after 11:00 AM, Wednesday at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the American Heart Association.
