Zoe Snyder Obituary

On January 8, 2024, Zoe Fuller Snyder, 96, of Peru Indiana, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family at St. Tammany Hospital in Covington, Louisiana. Zoe was the eldest child of Harry Robert Fuller and Esther Wininger Fuller, born on June 23, 1927 in Grand Rapids Michigan. Zoe grew up in Indianapolis, graduating from Shortridge High School in 1945 followed by William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri. Zoe married Dr. Park Snyder in 1952 and were stationed in the UK and Germany, before returning back to Peru, Indiana, where Park began practicing medicine. Zoe was preceded in death by husband, Park Snyder and sister, Esther Ann Fuller of Whitestown, Indiana. Zoe is survived by her children, Maggie Snyder McConnell (Rich) from Covington, Louisiana, Scott Snyder (Ann) from Lafayette, Louisiana, and Todd Snyder (Amanda) from Russiaville, Indiana, 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Jean (Fuller) Ballew from Carmel, Indiana, her brother Bob Fuller from Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Zoe Snyder was active in local politics, polling Peru voters for many years and serving as a delegate to the Republican State Convention in 1965. She and her family attended St John’s Lutheran Church in Peru. Zoe was an excellent cook and enjoyed entertaining, nice clothes, her Bible Study, and Art Club as well as spending her summers at Lake Wawasee. Zoe watched politics until the day she passed away and had hoped to see another 4 years with Trump! A service celebrating the life of Zoe Snyder will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main Street, Peru. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm followed by the 1:00 pm memorial service officiated by Reverend Joshua Dub of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home to Miami County Helping Hands.
