William C. “Bill” Slonaker, 83, of Denver, passed away at 2:18 A.M., Saturday, May 17, 2025 at his residence. Bill was born in Logansport, IN on March 3, 1942, the son of Isaac and June (Beckley) Slonaker. He married Sharon Reed on September 16, 1963 and she survives. Bill was a US Army Vietnam War Veteran. His decorations include the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Surviving in addition to his wife Sharon, are his children William D. Slonaker and his wife Monica of Kokomo, Lori Smith of Macy and Melanie Sucharski of Peru; grandchildren Billy, Jessa, Hevin, Blaize, Jamison, Tait, Kya, Amanda, Teka, Jonathan, and Shaina; great-grandchildren Maddox, Zhane, Rhyna, Sophie, Bella, Sydney, Sadie, Hayleejo, Will, Michael, Mackayla, Korbin, and James. Bill loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. He really enjoyed attending and watching them participate in their activities. He took pleasure in watching Purdue sports, the Cubs and the Bears. He was a proud Army Veteran and spoke frequently of his time serving in the military. Bill spent many years volunteering with the Peru Amateur Circus and was awarded Honorary Rigger of the year in 2016. A Memorial service celebrating the life of William C. “Bill” Slonaker held at 5:00 P.M., Friday May 23, 2025 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St., Peru with Pastor Dustin Smith officiating. Family and friends will gather from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M., Friday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home. Burial will be held in the Ever Rest Memorial Park at 2:00 P.M., Thursday May 29, 2025 with Military Honors provided by the Miami County Military Rites Unit. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home to Circus City Festival, Inc.
