William Quinton Obituary

William Raymond “Ray” Quinton, 98, of Peru, passed away at 11:55 A.M., Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Blair Ridge Health Campus. He was born in Peru, on March 28, 1927, the son of Clarence and Nannie (Eisenhower) Quinton. Ray married Catherine “Katie” Aspinwall on March 5, 1949, and she preceded him in death July 25, 2021. Ray was a 1944 graduate of Peru High School and enlisted in the United States Army. His Military decorations include the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, the WWII Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal Japan. Following his Military Service, Ray continued his education at Purdue University School of Pharmacy. He and his wife, Katie, owned and operated the Blue Drug Store, a Peru landmark until their retirement in 1996. After his retirement, Ray and Katie traveled the world, visiting countries in Asia, South America and Europe. Ray was a devoted member of the Peru First Presbyterian Church since 1961. His strong Christian Faith sustained his life, and he never hesitated to share with his family. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a lifelong member of the Peru Maennerchor, a former Peru Kiwanis Club Member and a former Peru Elks Lodge Member. Ray also belonged to the Indiana Pharmacy Association and the National Association of Retail Drug Stores. Ray is survived by his children, Dr. Ronald Ray (Jonell) Quinton of New Orleans, LA, Jeffrey Carlton (Melanie) Quinton of Rossville, IN, Sandra Kay (Steve Healy) Quinton of Bozeman, MT, and Dr. Karla Marie Quinton of Centennial, CO; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Katie, siblings Alice Bunish, Marion Quinton and Kathryn Quinton. A Memorial Service celebrating the life of William R. Quinton will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the First Presbyterian Church, 102 W. Main St., Peru with Pastor Mark Perry officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St., Peru to the First Presbyterian Church or the Miami County Helping Hands.
