William L. Peppers Obituary

William L. Peppers, 90, of Denver, IN, passed away at 10:00 P.M., Friday, February 7, 2025, at Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru. Bill was born in Miami County on August 29, 1934, the son of Fray and Cleta Sarver Peppers. Bill married Sharon Howard on November 23, 1955, in Denver, IN, and she survives. Bill graduated from Jefferson Township High School and worked at Wabash Alloys for many years. He was an active member of the Mexico New Life Church, serving on the Board of Trustees. He was also a charter member of the Denver Lions Club, and volunteered at the Miami County Helping Hands. Bill was award the Golden Hoosier Award by Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman on September 10, 2010, for his exemplary manner and dedication to bettering his community with the Miami County Helping Hands. He is survived his wife Sharon; his children Bill (Sue) Peppers of Star City, IN, Debbie (Terry) Merrix of Peru, Mike Peppers of Denver, and Danny (Nancy) Peppers of Peru; grandchildren Will Peppers, Adam (Jenna) Peppers, Megan Peppers, Keith Peppers, Jami (Derek) Irwin, Rachel Merrix, Jon (Brittany) Merrix and Mark (Leah) Merrix; several great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law Jean Moulton. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Margaret Moulton, and a daughter-in-law Diane Peppers. A service celebrating the life of William L. Peppers will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 14, 2025 at the Mexico New Life Church, 3039 W 400 N, Peru, with Pastor Chad Chamness officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Denver. Family and friends will gather from 11:00 A.M – 2:00 P.M., Friday, at the Mexico New Life Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mexico New Life Church or the Denver Lions Club.
