Wanda Sue Conner, 91, of Peru passed away at 7:25 AM, Monday, August 29, 2022 at Blair Ridge Health Campus. She was born in Terre Haute, IN, on July 22, 1931, the daughter of Claud and Sylvia Harkess Clark. She graduated from Jasper High School in 1949. On December 28, 1952, Sue married George H. Conner, Jr. in Jasper, IN. Sue attended Indiana State University. She worked at Wabash Valley Bank in various capacities, including Vice President of Administration, retiring in 1990.
Sue was an active member of the Peru community where she enjoyed helping with the Circus City Festival Parade for many years, as well as assisting with the wardrobe for Circus Festival performances. She was also an accomplished pianist and active in Ole Olsen Theater where she was a musician/rehearsal pianist, an actress, and a director with many shows to her credit .
Sue and George began a tradition of traveling with their grandkids on historical adventures to see the country. Sue loved living at Nettles Island, continuing her participation in theater and music productions. Her faith was important to her. In Peru, she attended First Christian Church. When she moved to Florida, she became an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Stuart, FL.
Sue is survived by her children Cindy Watson and her husband Steve of Peru, IN; Andy Conner and his wife Sandy of Zionsville, IN; Tim Conner and his wife Barbara of Peru, IN; and Tom Conner and his wife Cindy of North Webster, IN; grandchildren Matt (Andrea) Feller, Ian (Sarah) Watson, Quentin Watson, Kelsey (Kevin) Shannon, Clark (Jessica) Conner, Lauren (Chris) Cain, Zachary Conner and Abigayle Conner; six great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Miriam Clark. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George who passed away on December 2,2012, and her brother Dr. Gerald Clark.
Sue will be buried next to her husband George in Brownstown, Indiana. Internment for Wanda Sue Conner will be held at a later date.
