Walter Yance Howard, 56, of Peru passed away at 3:50 AM, Thursday, December 9, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Detroit, MI on August 14, 1965 the son of Walter and Jada McBee Howard. On August 18, 2018 Walter married Jamie Robinette and she survives.
Walter was a graduate of Harry S. Truman High School and later earned his Masters of Divinity. He was an Engineer on the Norfolk and Southern Railroad and has served as Local Chairman of the UTU since 1998. Walter was an Army and United States Marine Corp. Veteran.
Family was very important to Walter and his greatest joys in life were his wife, children and grandchildren. In a quiet and unassuming manner he placed God and his family above all else in his life.
Surviving in addition to his wife Jamie and his father Walter James Howard are his twin sister Rachel Howard, sister Cindy Dellapelle and brother Brian Howard; children Alston Howard, Pierce Howard, Queli Merkel, Destiny Bishop and Natasha Bishop; several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A service celebrating the life of Walter Yance Howard will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the Mount Hope Cemetery Chapel with Deacon Steve Seitz officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery with Military Rites provided by the Miami County Military Rites Unit. Family and friends will gather from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, Saturday at the Mount Hope Cemetery Chapel.
