Thomas Revoe Chilcutt Obituary

Thomas “Tom” Revoe Chilcutt age 81, passed away at 12:15am on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born November 10, 1944 in Peru, the son of Revoe Chilcutt and Maxine (Garner) Chilcutt. On October 25, 1964, he married Marie Bontrager at the Oakdale Baptist Church. Together they shared 61 years of marriage. Tom was a factory worker, a Peru city fireman for 25 years, and a painter part-time for 35 years. He was part owner of Front Porch Primitives. He enjoyed restoring Hoosier & Seller cabinets and going to auctions to see what jewel he could find to restore. He also restored vintage cars and enjoyed taking Sunday afternoon drives. Tom enjoyed fishing & hunting in his earlier years and later in life attending his grandchildren’s sports and other special events. He was a loving husband, father, papaw, son, and brother. He attended Zion Chapel in Peru. Tom is survived by his wife & two children: Tammy (Marcus) Zartman and Tim Chilcutt, two grandchildren: Taylor (Nik) Zartman Jones and Avery Zartman, his sister Linda Hare and sister-in-law Sue Chilcutt & many nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry, his in-laws, brother-in-law as well as a sister-in-law. A private graveside service will be held at Ever Rest Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the Zion Chapel Church, 915 S. Broadway, Peru, or to the Parkinson’s Foundation. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Compassus Hospice Care for their dedicated caring of life and making Tom comfortable. Everything was much appreciated.
