Theresa "Terry" Louise (Torbett) Manhart

Theresa “Terry” Louise Manhart, 86, of Peru passed away at 4:10 AM, Thursday, November 23, 2023, at the Blair Ridge Health Campus. She was born in Enid, OK on July 21, 1937, the daughter of Eugene Edward and Louise Mildred Schmitt Torbett. Terry married Hershel W. Manhart (LTC, USAF, RET) in Valdosta, GA on June 21, 1958, and he survives.

Terry was a 1955 graduate of Enid High School, Enid, OK and attended Oklahoma University. Her greatest joys in life were her family, her sons and her Roman Catholic faith. She was an active member of the St. Charles Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella and the Altar and Rosary Society. Terry was a gregarious woman who felt blessed to have so many friends.

In addition to her husband, Hershel, she is survived by her sons Hershel E., Jr. and Matthew A. Manhart both of Noblesville and brother Bruce Torbett of Tulsa, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Eugene Torbett.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Terry Manhart will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at the St. Charles Catholic Church, 58 W. 5th St., Peru, IN with Rev. Adam Mauman and Rev. Paul Cochran officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru. Family and friends will gather from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, November 27, 2023, at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St., Peru. There will be a prayer service at 8:00 PM, Monday at the funeral home.
