Ted W. Hunt

Ted Walter Hunt, 66, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025. He was born on August 27, 1958 in Peru, IN to Byron L. and Ruth Alice (Cook) Hunt. Ted grew up on the family farm north of Amboy. He graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1976, serving as a student manager for the athletic teams. He was a 10 year 4-H member and was in FFA. After high school, he worked several local jobs, eventually enrolling in Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne. He worked at Delco Electronics in Kokomo, IN in the radio repair department for 13 years. During this time, his interest in Audio Engineering expanded. He started this journey at Amboy Friends Church where in collaboration with choir director, Anita Shrock, he produced several choir cantatas. He also served as the Audio Technician at McGrawsville United Methodist Church. For 19 years he served as the sound and lighting technician for the Miami County 4-H Fair. He was also the Audio Technician for the local Gospel Group ‘Olive Branch’. He is survived by brothers: James, Monticello: Noel, Amboy: Benji and Alan both of rural Peru: and a sister, Janet Knight of Terre Haute. Six nephews, seven nieces and several great nieces and nephews. Ted was proceeded in death by his parents, Byron and Ruth Hunt and nephew Jason Hunt. Special thanks to his niece, Tracy Bautista for her love and care during the past 10 years, and to the nurses and staff of Compassus Hospice in his final days. A service celebrating the life of Ted W. Hunt will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 31, 2025 at Amboy Friends Church, 110 E. Pennsylvania St., Amboy, with Pastor Roy Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Amboy Friends Cemetery. Family and friends will gather Friday from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 2:00 P.M. at the Amboy Friends Church.
