Shirley M. Halterman, 85, of Peru, IN passed away at 4:10 AM, Friday, February 11, 2022 at Blair Ridge Health Campus. She was born in Miami County, IN the daughter of Allie and Mildred (Smith) Wilson. Shirley married Conrad Warder on February 15, 1957 at Peoria United Methodist Church and he preceded her in death on August 29, 1977. She later married Lewis Halterman at Bachelor Creek Church of Christ on November 10, 1990 and he preceded her on May 13, 2017.
Shirley was a 1955 graduate of Butler High School and a member of Bachelor Creek Church of Christ. In 1978 she began working for Peru Trust/Norwest Bank and proudly served her community for 17 years until her retirement as Branch Manager of Wells Fargo in Mexico in 1995. An active member of the community, Shirley was a former member of Altrusa, an active member of Dukes Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Bachelor Creek Ladies Aid and served on the Board of Directors of the Peru Civic Center.
Shirley is survived by her children Conrad (Krista) Warder, Jr. of Peru and Shannon Warder-Cloutier of Huntington, IN; step-children Robert (Sherry) Halterman of Macy, IN, Gary (Loretta) Halterman of Macy, IN, and Crystal (Tim) Noakes of Logansport, IN; brothers George (Carol) Wilson of Peru, Terry Hann of Wabash, IN and Allie Ray (Cynthia) Wilson of Peru; sisters Amy Niccum of Wabash, IN and Lana Sue (Eddie) Webb of Wabash, IN; grandchildren Nicole (Kyle) Amor, Conrad Warder, III, Sarah (Dean) Gaddy, Mitchell (Justina) Cloutier, II and Sabryna Cloutier; many step grandchildren and several great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. In addition to her spouses, Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and infant son Matthew.
A service celebrating the life of Shirley M. Halterman will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St., Peru with Pastor Shane Capps officiating. Burial will follow at Peoria Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.
