Shirley A. Correll, 89, of Peru, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at her residence. She was born in Menifee County, Kentucky on July 28, 1936, the daughter of Everette Craig and Mazella McGlothen Craig. Shirley married Robert “Bob” Correll on December 29, 1956, and he preceded her in death on July 28, 2021.
Shirley devoted decades to raising Alpine, Toggenburg, and Recorded Grade dairy goats, actively participating in dairy goat clubs and showing the Caprine Hills herd with pride. She spent her career with W.C. Redmon Corporation, where she served as a manager and was respected for her dedication and leadership. At home, she found joy in tending her beautiful garden, and her faith was an important part of her life through her involvement with Richvalley Church. Those who knew Shirley will remember her as fiercely independent, exceptionally organized, and never afraid of hard work.
Shirley is survived by her granddaughter, Sarah Correll, and her husband, Rian Browne, of Jamestown, Indiana; her daughter-in-law, Kelly Haupert, of Macy, Indiana; and her sister, Janet Clemons. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, her son Daniel Correll, and her siblings Ralph Craig, Chester Craig, Lester Craig, Elwood Craig, Gene Craig, and Helen Bradey.
A service celebrating the life of Shirley A. Correll will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, July 3, 2026, at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St. Peru, with Pastor Jack Suits officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Family and friends will gather for visitation from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Friday, at the funeral home.
