Ruth P. Carrothers, 90, of Peru, passed away at 1:30 A.M., Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at her residence. She was born in Macy, IN on December 20, 1931, the daughter of Lester and Chloe (Walker) Floyd. Ruth married Brice Carrothers on May 19, 1951 at the Gilead Ebenezer Church and he preceded her in death on December 6, 2013. Ruth was a graduate of the Macy High School and a member of Salem Christian Church. She worked for Maconaquah School Corp for 24 years. Ruth loved being outside mowing and working in her yard. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruth is survived by a son, Larry (Jenny) Carrothers of Peru; a daughter-in-law Susan Carrothers of Peru; a brother David Floyd of Denver, IN; a sister Adella Wilson of South Bend, IN; grandchildren Elizabeth (Tim) Althouse, Austin Carrothers, Brittany (Dustin) Taylor, Jacob (Chenoa) Cox,; great-grandchildren Olivia Gutbrod, Teigan Althouse, Alyssa Althouse, Maverick Althouse, Kiara Cox, Ailonia Cox, Kaylee Cox, Conner Cox, Owen Taylor, Huntley Taylor, Jackson Taylor and Tessa Taylor Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Brice, a son Gary Carrothers, 3 sisters and a brother. A service celebrating the life of Ruth P. Carrothers will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, January 10, 2022 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main St., Peru with Pastor Mike Williams officiating. Burial will be in Rankin Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., Monday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may made through the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home to the Salem Christian Church.
