Rosanna Satterthwaite

  Rosanna Satterthwaite, 99, of Peru passed away at 4:28 PM, Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Peru.  She was born in Huntington, IN., on August 21, 1920, the daughter of Herman and Mary Schaffer Stoltz.  Rosanna married Charles P. Satterthwaite at St. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church, Huntington, IN on November 17, 1943 and he preceded her in death February 19, 2007.

   Rosanna was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church, the Altar & Rosary Society and the Daughters of Isabella.  A homemaker, she had worked at the Converse Café and the Amboy Café.  For many years Rosanna provided a babysitting service in her home.  She thoroughly enjoyed sewing, gardening and was an avid bingo player.  She showed us how to live beautifully, truthfully and with faith filled simplicity.

  She is survived by her son Rick (Becky) Satterthwaite, Kokomo, Mike (Twyla) Satterthwaite, Texas, Dennis (Mary) Satterthwaite, Fresno, OH., Charles (Cheryl) Satterthwaite, Callao, MO., James (Kyle) Satterthwaite, Converse and Kevin Satterthwaite, Peru; daughters Rose Marie (Dale) Myers, Amboy, and Christine Ebert, Peru; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, three brothers and four sisters.

   A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Rosanna Satterthwaite will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, October 21, 2019 at the St. Charles Catholic Church 58 W. 5th St., Peru, with Rev. Adam Mauman officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Charles Catholic Cemetery.  Family and friends will gather from 1:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home 84 W. Main St., Peru.  There will be a prayer service at 5:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
