Ronald C. Gustafson, 79, of Peru passed away on Sunday September 6, 2020 at his residence. Ronald was born on December 6, 1940 to Charles and Elnora Gustafson in La Porte, IN. He married Carolee Parkman on November 24, 1962 and she proceeded him in death.

He was a 1998 graduate of the Indiana Department of Environmental Management and also worked as a water system distribution operator. After high school he enlisted in the Air Force and served in Vietnam. Ronald retired from Dana Corp in Marion after 35 years of dedicated service. He restored several classic cars and was especially fond of Mustangs and Thunderbirds. Ronald also enjoyed playing the organ and reed accordion and loved spending time with his dogs.

Ronald is survived by his son Christopher (Nicole) Gustafson of Peru, IN and his daughter Angela (Dale) Gunther of Titusville, FL as well as his sisters Nancy Muhlig, Janet Alexander, and Dana Galbraith. Also surviving are grand-children: Sarah Gunther, Elizabeth (Chris) Cunningham, Bryce Hall (Fiancé Elaine), Kyrsten (Neil) Ross, Trysta Gustafson and his great grand-children Aiden Hall, Landon, Madysen, and Maysee Cunningham.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Carolee and their son Matthew Gustafson.

A Memorial Service is to be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 181 W. Main St., Peru, on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 4:00 P.M. with Pastor Kenneth Greenwald presiding.  Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery with military honors provided by the Miami County Military Rites Unit.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
