Ronald C. Goodnight

Ronald C. Goodnight, 78, of Amboy, IN passed away in Ft. Wayne, IN at 2:24 AM, Saturday, March 26, 2022. He was born in Russiaville, IN on May 6, 1943 the son of Eppa Eugene and Mary Ines DeFord Goodnight. Ron married Sonia Williams on December 27, 1989. Ron was a 1961 graduate of Western High School and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was employed at Chrysler Corp. in Kokomo for 37 years retiring in 1998. He was an avid bowler in his younger years and trips to the casinos was a favorite past-time. Ron was a devoted husband and father. Being the number one fan of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was evident by his frequent presence at school and sports events. He is survived by sons Shane (Charise) Goodnight, Kokomo, IN; Ronald Jason (Debbie) Goodnight, Lago Vista, TX; a daughter Sasha Goodnight, Kokomo, IN; a step-daughter Mandy (James) Fisher, Amboy, IN; grandchildren Allyson (Bryan) Beachy, Jesse Goodnight, A.J. Lindzy, Vinny Lindzy, Nakona Goodnight; step-grandchildren Kyonna Fisher, Jimmy Fisher, Samantha (Jared) Mitzelfelt, Austin Johnson; great grandchildren Jakobe Baker, Reese Beachy, Azaiah Lindzy; step-great grandchildren Jabriel Fisher, Parker Althouse, Ellie Mitzelfelt and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sonia, brother Jimmy Goodnight and sisters Patricia Townsend and Jerri Boruff. A service celebrating the life of Ronald C. Goodnight will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 31, 2022 at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, 201 N. Main St., Amboy, IN with Pastor Roy Jones officiating. Burial will be at Park Lawn Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Miami County Military Rites Unit. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Thursday at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home.
