Robert E. Parker, 90, of Peru passed away at 8:28 PM, Monday, October 25, 2021 at Dukes Memorial Hospital. He was born in Lewisburg, OH on January 25, 1931 the son of Herbert and Lucille Bray Parker. Robert married Elma Lorenz in Wabash on May 6, 1950 and she survives.
A man of great faith and integrity Bob was a member of the Loree Church of the Brethren where he served as a Deacon. His greatest joys in life were his wife and his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Bob was a retired farmer, carpenter/contractor and Maconaquah School bus driver.
Surviving in addition to his wife Elma is a daughter Joleen Parker of Peru; sons James Parker of Amboy and William Parker of North Manchester; grandchildren Heather (Jeff) Stevens, Tiffany (Stu) Reed, Christopher Parker, Jeremy (Amber) Parker and Erin (Michael) Opp; 10 great grandchildren and a step brother Leon Malott.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his step mother Sylvia Parker, daughter Joyce Parker, brother Ed Parker, step brother Herbert Malott, step sister Virginia VanDyke, daughter-in-law Carla Parker and grandson Ryan Parker.
A service celebrating the life of Robert E. Parker will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, October 30, 2021 at the Loree Brethren Church, 8483 S. Strawtown Pike, Bunker Hill, IN with Dr. Lloyd Lorenz officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Amboy, IN. Family and Friends will gather from 2:00 – 6:00 PM, Friday, October 29, 2021 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St., Peru, IN.
