Robert W. Holtzlander Obituary

Robert William Holtzlander, 73, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2025. Robert was born in Grand Rapids, MI on June 15, 1951, son of Hoyt and Wanda (Holbrook) Holtzlander. Robert married Pamela “Sunny” Swantner on May 19, 1990. Robert served in the United States Marine Corps for 22 years, retiring in 1991. Those who knew him would say he was a “jack of all trades“. Roberts generosity and compassion towards people and animals complemented his ornery, spontaneous personality. Robert is survived by his children, Robert “Jace” Holtzlander of Peru, Sarah (Kris) Kraning of Peru, Stepchildren Kenneth (Ryanne) Comerford of Louisiana, and Christina Comerford of Colorado; as well as 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Sunny. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 12-5pm at the PeruMaennerchor, 154 S Wabash St. Peru, IN. Military Honors to be presented by the Miami County Military Rites Unit at 12 noon.
