Robert Anderson Obituary

Robert “Bob” Anderson, 93, of Kokomo passed away at 7:58 AM, Thursday, December 3, 2020 at his home. He was born on June 23, 1927 in Miami County the son of Ira and Opal Anderson and married Donna Lee on October 16, 1982 in Amboy, IN and she survives.

 

A member of America’s Greatest Generation Bob graduated from Amboy High School in 1945 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. His military decorations include the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal Japan. Bob then went on to Tri State College. He retired in 1983 from Anaconda W & C where he worked as a Mechanical Engineer for 16 years. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post 368, Pickers & grinners in Howard County and was an active billiards player in pool leagues in both Howard County and Grant County for several years. He also spent many years helping his father farm in Miami County.

 

In addition to his wife Donna Bob is survived by his children James (Carole) Anderson of Fremont, IN, Connie Freshwater of Maryville, TN, Lisa R. Anderson of Indianapolis, IN, And Lori R. (Billy Wentz) Anderson of Indianapolis, IN; his step-children Kathi J. (Ron) Montgomery of Van Buren, IN, Teddi J. VanBlaracum of Ft. Myers, FL; 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren, 12 step great grandchildren; his sister Bonnie (Darnell) Clevenger of Tempe, AZ and brother Max (Winnifred) Anderson of Converse, IN; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, infant Robert Anderson, granddaughter Tina Hagenbuch, sister Mary Belle Garber and grandson Darrin Bledsoe.

 

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Elara Caring Hospice and to Home Instead Health Care.

 

Family and friends may gather from 2:00-4:00 PM, Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, 201 N. Main St., Amboy, IN.

 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made through the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home or mailed directly to Tunnel 2 Towers Foundation at 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306.
