Richard A. "Pete" Fooshee

Richard A. “Pete” Fooshee, 78, of Peru, passed away at 10:15 A.M., Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Logansport Memorial Hospital. He was born in Detroit, MI on April 30, 1943, the son of Allen and Helene Weitzel Fooshee. Pete married Connie Mae Hartzler in 1966 and she preceded him in death May 19, 2010. Pete was a 1962 graduate of Peru High School and US Navy Veteran. His military decoration include the National Defense Service Medal . He was a retired Norfolk and Southern Engineer and a member of the Peru Moose Lodge. Pete was a joy to be around and he was a true giver in every sense. He lived life fully, setting an example grounded in great personal courage, wit and integrity. Pete is survived by a son Devin Fooshee of Peru; sisters Georgann Hahn of Peru and Christine Hughes of Las Vegas, NV and a brother-in-law Tim Bessignano of Peru. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Connie, a sister Mary Frances Bessignano and a brother John Fooshee. There will be no visitation or funeral services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Miami County Helping Hands. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.
