Rhoda P. (Loucks) Ellers

Rhoda P. Ellers, 77, of Peru, passed away at 2:31 P.M., Monday, April 18, 2022 at Dukes Memorial Hospital. Rhoda was born in Proctor, VT, on November 3, 1944, the daughter of Noel Stanley and Bonny Ellis Loucks. She married Howard “Dean” Ellers in the First Baptist Church, Peru, on November 6, 1966 and he preceded her in death on October 22, 2009. Rhoda was a Tipton Township High School graduate from the class of 1963 and was an Independent Avon Representative. She loved helping people, being involved with the community and thoroughly enjoyed her association of more than 40 years with the Circus City Festival, Inc. with 25 plus years helping with the Kiddie Clowns. Rhoda was a member of TOPS/KOP Club, International for over 50 years and the Cole Porter Friendship Club. Her favorite past time without a doubt was spending time with family, particularly her granddaughter and nieces and nephew. When she could, Rhoda relished traveling and seeing new sights. Surviving are her daughters, Valerie Ellers Richardson of SC and Vanessa Ellers Chapman of FL; granddaughter Emma Chapman; brother Charles (Julie) Loucks of Carmel and nieces and nephews. A service celebrating the life of Rhoda P. Ellers will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St., Peru with Rev. Dr. Samuel Odubena officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Peru. Family and friends will gather from 12 Noon to 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Circus City Festival, Inc. (CCFI).
