Rex W. Klise, 80, of rural Kokomo, passed away at 3:52 P.M. Tuesday, October 27, 2020. He was born in Miami County on December 6, 1939 the son of Raymond W. and Mary Alice Phelps Klise. Rex married Marilyn Lavengood at the Kokomo Zion UMC on May 16, 1959 and she survives.
Rex was 1957 graduate of Clay Township Highschool and member of the Galveston United Methodist Church. He was a life long Miami County farmer and a Becks Seed Corn dealer.
Rex was an avid collector of antique John Deer Tractors and a member of the Miami-Peru Masonic Lodge no. 67 F&AM. He loved camping with family and friends. Family was very important to Rex and he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Surviving in addition to his wife Marilyn is a daughter Karen (Larry) Miller of Kokomo, a son Dr. Terry (Suzanne) Klise of Missoula, MT, a brother Max Klise of Kokomo, grandchildren Christopher Miller, Jennifer Weber, Cameron Klise and Brandon Klise and a great grandson Leo Miller.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents and a brother James Klise.
A service celebrating the life of Rex W. Klise will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 31, 2020 at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, 201 N. Main St., Amboy with Pastor Norm Snyder and Pastor David Duke officiating. Burial will be in the Galveston Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 4-8 P.M. Friday at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home.
