Primitiva (Tagupa) Gonsalves July 23, 1932 – April 4, 2020 Primitiva “Tiva” Gonsalves, 87, of Bunker Hill, passed away peacefully, at 10:08 A.M., Saturday, April 4, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on July 23, 1932, the daughter of Filomeno and Emma Kawawa Tagupa. Tiva married her loving husband, Michael Gonsalves on April 22, 1950 and she was a proud and supportive military wife during Mike’s 24 year of active duty in the US Air Force. Tiva was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella, the Altar and Rosary Society, and Psi Iota Xi Sorority. She had been employed as an executive secretary with Peru High School and Kokomo Center Schools. Throughout her life, Tiva demonstrated her compassion and gentleness to everyone she met. No one was a stranger and she greeted everyone she met with a big smile and a hug. Tiva was a loving and devoted wife, mother and Grammie. Most of all she did her best, lived well, laughed often, loved and was loved by many – a life well lived by any standard. Tiva is survived by her loving husband, Michael Gonsalves; children, Beverly (Michael) Delaney, Barbara (Brian) Postlethweight, Michael (Janet) Gonsalves and Shelly (Jimmy) Dyer; two sisters, Leilani Johnson and Sing Low; grandchildren, Audra (Erik Holmgren) Dye, Brent Postlethweight, Cara Postlethweight, Piercey Dyer, Derek (Brittany) Haynes and Brooke (Chris) Betten and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie Penrod; eight brothers and three sisters. A Private Service celebrating the life of Primitiva “Tiva” Gonsalves will be held at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Mauman officiating. Burial will be in the Springdale Cemetery, Bunker Hill, IN. Tiva’s service will be live streamed through Face Book at Eddy Funeral Homes, Inc.. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main St., Peru, IN to the St. Charles Catholic Church.
