Myrtle Rabe Obituary

Marie Rabe, 86, of Peru, passed away at 6:15 PM Friday, May 17, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Alamo, Tennessee on May 14, 1932 the daughter of Chester and Myrtle Roberts Lee. Marie married Dave Rabe at the First Christian Church Parsonage in Peru on June 29, 1952 and he survives.

Marie graduated from Peru High School in 1950 and was a member of the First Christian Church. She was a waitress at The Tally Ho Restaurant for over 25 years and at Shanty Malone’s for 15 years. Whether on the job as a waitress or out socially Marie was always immaculately dressed to include her signature high heels. She was always quick with a smile and loved to hug.

Surviving in addition to her husband Dave are her daughters Teri Rabe of Peru and Davenee (Matt) Benge of Indianapolis, IN; sons Mike (Kristie) Rabe of Peru, Jeff Rabe (Rebecca Taylor) of Warsaw, Scott (Kristi) Rabe of Noblesville, IN and Brady (Shelly) Saylor of Peru, IN; brother Chester (Pat) Lee of Sommerville, TN; grandchildren Nate Bickel, Jamy (Pam) Bickel, Kily Miles, Danny Rabe, Michael (Gretchen) Rabe, Greg Rabe, Dusty Rippy, Kristin (Juni) Maldonado, Zach Rabe and Derek Rabe; great grandchildren Britne Bickel, Lily Mosley, Billy Mosley, Jasmine Mosley, Elijah Bickel, Mason Bamberlein, Trent Rabe, Lily Provesan, Oliver Rabe, Elliot Rabe, Javier Maldonado, Marisol Maldonado, Alayna Rippy, Haiden Rippy and Justus Rippy. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Elmer Wood and three sisters Delmar Dunavant Mae Castell and Louise Bruff.

There will be no visitation or funeral services.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Scratching Post Cat Rescue of Peru.
