Michael A. Nero

Michael A. Nero, 62, of Peru passed away at 12:49 PM, Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. He was born in Sedalia, MO on March 8, 1960, the son of Anthony and June Cotner Nero. 

Michael was a 1979 graduate of Peru High School and varsity wrestler and football player.   He worked as a mechanic for an automotive shop and also was a heavy equipment mechanic at Grissom AFB.  He also built farm silos, worked on oil rigs and drove semis.  An avid Chicago Bears fan, he loved supporting his team at any opportunity. Michael also treasured his dogs, who would hang out with him during games and were always the very best company.

Michael is survived by his sister Jane Ansari of Peru, brother Anthony Nero, Jr. of Warsaw and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother John Nero and sister Laura Nero.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Michael A. Nero will be held at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St., Peru, IN with Pastor Randy Smoot officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
