Max Eikenberry Obituary

Max Joseph Eikenberry, 82, of Delphi, passed away at 7:20 P.M., Sunday, April 18, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Health Care, Delphi. Max was born in Peru, on May 22, 1938, the son of Joseph L. and Frances E. Blackburn Eikenberry. He married Judith Ann Moulton in 1960. Max was a 1956 graduate of Deedsville High School and was a dairy farmer. He was an avid sports fan, with some of his favorites being White Sox Baseball, IU Basketball, Pacers, Colts and the grandchildren’s sports. Family was very important to Max. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend. He loved his family unconditionally. Max was a good natured, happy guy, who never met a stranger. Surviving is a daughter, Elizabeth Ann (William) Carbaugh of Delphi; a son, John Joseph (Traci) Eikenberry of Taylorsville, KY.; a sister Virginia (Danny) See of Mexico; grandchildren Daniel (Amy) Carbaugh of Kokomo, Michael (Emma) Carbaugh of Monticello, Sarah Carbaugh of Delphi, Hannah Carbaugh of Lafayette, Aneilya Carbaugh of Nashville, TN, Laura Carbaugh of Delphi, Megan Eikenberry (Suzanne O’Neal) of Phoenix, AZ, Mallory (Josh) Ogburn of Louisville, and Bryce Eikenberry of Louisville ; great-grandchildren, Adelyn, Emersyn, Everett, Josephine, Maxin and Maia and special people in his life, Jamie (Michelle) Stewart, Denver. Max was preceded in death by his parents and a brother David Eikenberry. A service celebrating the life of Max J. Eikenberry will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 23, 2021 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main St., Peru with Pastor Randy Smoot officiating. The Service will also be live streamed on Facebook at Eddy Funeral Homes, Inc.  Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico, IN. Family and friends will gather from 12 Noon until time of service at 2:00 P.M., Friday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Charity of your choice.
