Maureen O. Miller Fenske went into her Saviors open arms on November 19, 2020. She died at Dukes Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born in Rochester, MN on July 2, 1935 to George and Georgia Aney Miller.
She graduated from Pine Island H.S. in Pine Island, Mn, while also working at the Kahler Hotel in Rochester, MN where she met the love of her life, David. The were married February 5, 1953 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester, MN. Pastor Eifert officiated. They had 3 girls, Pat Wade (Carl) of Bunker Hill, IN, Nan Orpurt (Denny) of Peru, IN and Mary Ramsey (Dean) of Galveston, IN.
Maureen had 7 grandchildren, David Wade (Robin) of Monon, IN, Misty Wade Hartke (Matt) of Kokomo, IN, Seth Williams of Peru, IN, Michael Williams (Susana) of Peru, IN, Adam Williams of Peru, IN, Katie Ramsey Anderson (Greg) of Zionsville, IN, Ryan Ramsey (Alyssa) of Quincy, IL and McKayla Ramsey of Galveston, IN. Maureen also had 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband David, parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters and a nephew.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Peru, IN where she was active in many affairs of the church. She was active in Red Cross as a driver and military affairs coordinator. She was also a Meals on Wheels driver.
Maureen worked in Civil Service through the years at Hickam AFB Hawaii and Grissom AFB. She had the great honor of being selected Grissom AFB Civilian of the year in 1977 while serving in the Transportation Division of the Department of Defense.
A private family viewing will be held at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 with funeral at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Peru, IN on Wednesday 25, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Ken Greenwald officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery Peru, IN.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made through the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
