Mary K. Harding, 76, of Peru, IN., passed away at 8:30 PM, Friday, May 1, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincant, Kokomo, IN. She was born in Peru on September 22, 1949, the daughter of Charles and Ruth Black Grady. Mary married DeWayne Harding on July 20, 1968 and he survives. Mary was a 1967 graduate of Peru High School and she attended Indianapolis Tech School. Mary was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella and the Altar and Rosary Society. She also served as a volunteer with the Pink Ladies of Dukes Memorial Hospital. Mary and DeWayne enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who loved her family unconditionally. Surviving in addition to her husband, DeWayne, are her children Damian (Nicole) Harding of Peru, Terry Harding (Melissa) of Peru and Katherine Jackson of Indianapolis; grandchildren Cody Jackson, Ashley Jackson, Adam (Katelyn) Harding , Kelsey Jackson, Brian Harding, Audrey (Jonah) Talcott, Liberty (Kato) Burris, Nate Harding, Ephraim Freeman and Jada (Chris) Maconu, fourteen great grandchildren and siblings John (Darleen) Grady, Charles (Betsy) Grady, James Grady (Wanda), Ruth Gooch and Deborah (David) Ruth. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Brandon Harding and brother in-law Wayne Gooch. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Mary K. Harding will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the St. Charles Catholic Church, 58 W. 5th St, Peru with Fr. Kyle Neterer officiating. Burial will be in Mt Hope Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 4:00- 7:00 PM , Tuesday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St, Peru. There will be a prayer service at 7:00PM, Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to Riley Children’s Hospital.
