Mary Yukiyo Arnold, 95, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019 at 3:25 A.M. at Duke’s Memorial Hospital in Peru. Mary was born in Tokyo, Japan on February 28, 1924, the daughter of Tameichi and Chii Iizuka. She married Paul Talbot Arnold on October 18, 1961, and he preceded her in death.
She worked at AGP, Kofabco, Classico, Peru Tribune & Wabash Plane Dealer. She finally retired from working at the age of 83. She enjoyed walking, going out to eat, and spending time with family.
Surviving are Mary’s children, Paula (Deb Hensel) Johnson, Peru, Erroll (Brenda) Holt, Price, Utah, Eric Holt, Jacksonville, Florida, and Terry (Tina) Holt, Plainfield; grandchildren, Nick (Marti) Johnson, Summer (Randy) Jackson, Derrick (Candice) Holt, Richard (Heather) Holt, Matthew (Sarah) Holt, Eric (Nicole) Holt, Sara Holt, and Marissa Staller; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul, siblings, Atsui Saito and Kakuko Saito, and two daughter-in-laws, Betty Anne Holt and Carol Holt.
A Memorial Gathering for Mary Yukiyo Arnold will be from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M., Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main Street, Peru, Indiana. A graveside service will be held Monday, July 15, 2019 at 4:00 P.M. at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
