Marvin C. Mooneyhan, 82, of Converse, IN passed away at 5:40 AM, Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Rolling Meadows Health Care, LaFontaine, IN. He was born in Berrien County, MI on June 17, 1941, the son of Lenard and Irene Pope Mooneyhan. Marvin married Donna Renbarger on May 29, 1960, and she survives.
Marvin was a 1959 graduate of Converse High School and attended the Church of Hope, Amboy, IN. A lifelong entrepreneur, he was involved in various enterprises in the Converse community.
Throughout his life Marvin demonstrated an adventurous spirit. He and his wife Donna traveled the country including on a motorcycle. Marvin had his pilot’s license and was an avid lover of cars. Showing horses and camping were also part of his adventurous spirit.
Surviving in addition to his wife Donna are daughters Lisa Amore of Greentown, IN and Terri Smoot and her husband Randy of North Grove, IN; grandchildren Matthew Amore, Stephanie Hutton and Kylie Burkert; great grandchildren Elizabeth Hutton, Catherine Hutton, Stephen Burkert, Luna Burkert, Oliver Amore, Jonathon Hutton, Fenyx Burkert and one on the way; sisters-in-law Jane Howay of Bunker Hill and Lavetta Renbarger of Jalapa, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Laura Miller.
A service celebrating the life of Marvin C. Mooneyhan will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, May 6, 2024, at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home 201 N. Main St., Amboy, IN with Marvins son-in-law Pastor Randy Smoot officiating. Burial will be in Thrailkill Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Sunday, May 5, 2024, at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made through the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
