Marlene (Hahn) Pier Obituary

Marlene Pier, 92, of Peru, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, in her residence at Aperion Estates. Born July 15, 1932, the daughter of Philip and Mary Worl Hahn. Marlene married Robert “Bob” Pier in Miami County on January 9, 1953 and he preceded her in death on May 2, 2019. Marlene was a member of the Mexico Baptist Church and prioritized family above all else. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Marlene enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids in whatever activities she could. She found pleasure in cooking and providing for her loving family. Her and Bob found a great sense of joy being snow birds, traveling to winter in Florida for 32 years. Marlene is survived by her children Douglas Pier and his wife Diana of Galveston and Vicki Musselman and her husband Michael of Roann; grandchildren David Musselman, Kathy Exmeyer and her husband Scott, Missy Mowery and her husband Michael, Thillia Reynolds and her husband Kevin, and Chris Pier and his wife Danielle; eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a sister Vera Margaret Pressey and her husband Harry. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother Maurice Hahn, and sister-in-law Judy Hahn. A service celebrating the life of Marlene Pier will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 2, 2025, at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St. Peru, IN, with Pastor Kyle Schnitz officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in Miami County, IN. Family and friends will gather from Noon – 2:00 PM, Sunday, at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Community Church of Mexico, formerly the Mexico Baptist Church.
