Lowell S. Vincent, 87, of Peru passed away at 10:50 PM, Friday, December 13, 2019, at Lutheran Hospital, Ft Wayne, IN. He was born in Economy, IN, on March 27, 1932 the son of James Paul and Pearl C. Hodson Vincent. Lowell married Barbara Dewart on April 9, 1951 and she survives.
Lowell was a 1950 graduate of Peru High School and a member of the First Baptist Church. He was employed as a supervisor at GM in Kokomo retiring in 1987. Lowell also owned and operated the South Side B & K Root Beer Stand in Peru. He was a member of Peru-Miami Lodge # 67 F&AM and the Order of the Eastern Star. Lowell was an avid fan of Peru High School Basketball and the Cincinnati Reds, and enjoyed golfing.
Lowell was most passionate and dedicated to his family. In his quiet and unassuming manner, he placed his God and his family above all else in his life.
Surviving in addition to his wife Barbara are his children Penny (Eric) Baber, Peru; Pam (Rick) Butzin, Peru; Patty (Mike) Bakehorn, Peru; Paula (Scott) Trueblood, Westville, IN and Jim (Angie) Vincent Peru; a brother Paul J, Vincent, Florida; a sister, Madeline Lucas, Peru, 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ronnie Vincent.
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Lowell S. Vincent will be held at 4:00 PM, Thursday, December 19, 2019 at the First Baptist Church, 53 E. Main St, Peru with Pastor Robert Adelsperger officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM Thursday at the church.
