Lillie M. DeTurk, 85, of Peru, left her temporary home to enter her eternal home in heaven at 10:44 P.M., Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, IN. Lillie was born in Prestonsburg, KY, on August 26, 1938, the daughter of Dockie and Thelma (Hale) Ousley. She married Lewis F. DeTurk in North Manchester on July 18, 1960 and he preceded her in death on March 18, 2022. Lillie graduated from Prestonsburg High School and was a member of the East Pointe Bible Church. Lillie enjoyed the domestic life and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving is a daughter, Linda (David) Partin of Goshen and a son, Jeff DeTurk of Peru; siblings Ruth Harmon of Warsaw and Ed Ousley of Prestonsburg, KY; grandchildren Jessica Partin, Caleb (Noelle) Partin and Shelby Schnitz and great-grandchildren Silas Partin, Brooks Partin, Adrien Sanders, Aubrey Sanders and Braden Schnitz. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and siblings Jean Carr, Paul Ousley, Cassie Shepherd, Curtis Ousley, Burnis Ousley, Willie Ousley and Gomer Ousley. A service celebrating the life of Lillie DeTurk will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main St., Peru with Pastor Tim Cowell officiating. Burial will be at Marion National Cemetery at a later date. Family and friends will gather from 10 A.M until the time of service at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.
