Kenneth M. Mitchell, 89, of Arlington Heights, IL passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights, IL. He was born in Ford, KS on October 12, 1933, the son of Edgar and Mildred Roberts Mitchell. Kenneth married Shirley Houlihan on March 5, 1961, in Rich Valley, In. A college graduate, Kenneth was a retired accountant and US Army Veteran. He is survived by his wife Shirley, son Scott Mitchell, daughter Kimberly Philipp and her husband Kenneth, grandson Brian Philipp, brother in-law Martin Houlihan and his wife Janice, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Edgar and Mildred, in-laws Francis and Ruth Houlihan, brothers Dwight, Melvin, Raymond, sisters Rosie, Romona and grandson Bradley Philipp. Family and friends of Kenneth M. Mitchell will gather from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, June 29, 2023, at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St., Peru, In. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Warrell Law officiating. A burial with full Military Honors provided by the Miami County Military Rites Unit will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
