Katherine Ann (Brooks) Miller

Katherine Ann Miller, 67, of Peru passed away at 8:55 PM, Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Community Howard Hospital. She was born on February 19, 1956, the daughter of Donald and Sylvia Stapleton Brooks. On June 25, 1983, Katherine married her sweetheart, Nelson Miller, and he survives.

Katherine was a Maconaquah High School graduate and a member of the Bunker Hill Baptist Church. She lived her entire life Indiana, seen many things, and worked in a few different places. She's done everything from factory work to waitressing, and also splashed in some nursing and home health care. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, baking, doing puzzles and spending time in her yard. Above everything else, she treasured spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

Surviving in addition to her husband Nelson are her children Chad (Amanda Abbott) Brooks of Peru, IN, Brian (Crystal) Miller of Greentown, IN, and Michael (Amy Walters) Smail of Kokomo, IN; grandchildren Braxton Brooks, Jerimiah Miller, Kaleb Sample-Ward, Kadin Smail, Hayley Smail, Kiara Abbott and Stanley Abbott; three great grandchildren; and her siblings, Farris E. Rayn and Harry W. Brooks. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Donald Brooks.

A service celebrating the life of Katherine Ann Miller will be at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St., Peru, IN with Pastor Bill Sheets officiating. Gathering of family and friends will be from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, Tuesday, October 17, 2023. 

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made through the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
