Joseph Wayne Spin

Joseph Wayne Spin, 78, of Denver, IN, passed away at 5:28 P.M., Friday, March 11, 2022 in Miami County, IN. Joseph was born in Canonsburg, PA on November 25, 1943, the son of John and Mary Furchak Spin. He married Kathryn Scariot in Phoenix, AZ on August 27, 1966 and joined her in death on the same day. Joseph was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church and an US Army Veteran serving in Vietnam. He is also retired from 37 years of service for Chrysler. Joseph was loved to cook for his family and anyone who walked through the door. He enjoyed al of his dogs and all of the family “granddogs” loved him. A man of many talents, Joseph was an avid wood worker and made gifts for all the family. He also crafted his own wine. Surviving are his children Regina (Trent) Eikenberry of Elkhart, IN, Joseph (Kelli) Spin II of Peru, Angie (Ron) Brown of Ladoga, IN and John Spin of Denver, IN; grandchildren Trevor Eikenberry, Shelby Walden, Joseph Spin III, Ryan Spin, Hayden Spin, Heath Spin, Crystal Stadler and Suzanna Brown, 11 Great-grandchildren, brothers Paul (Heidi) Spin of Nevada and William Spin of Alabama and sister-in-law Jill Spin of Mexico, IN. Joseph was preceded by his parents and sister Darlene Lucus. A Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Joseph W. Spin will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 18, 2022 at the St. Charles Catholic Church, 58 W. 5th St., Peru with Rev. Kyle Neterer officiating. Burial will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery, Denver, IN. Family and friends will gather from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main St., Peru. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 P.M., Thursday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home to the Wounded Warrior Project.
