Jeanette Mae Ensign

  Jeanette Mae Ensign, 91, formerly of Peru, passed away at 7:00 PM Sunday, October 6, 2019, at her son Todd’s home in Greenwood, IN.  She was born in Rochester, MI on August 28, 1928,  the daughter of George Delos and Gladys Bertha Kunstmann Robinson.  Jeanette married  Air Force Lt. Kenneth E. Ensign on October 7, 1949 at St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Rochester, MI and he preceded her in death on February 8, 1980.

  Jeanette graduated from Rochester High School, Rochester, MI in 1947.  Following her marriage in 1949 she traveled to Okinawa, Taiwan and many stateside assignments while her husband was in the Air Force.  Upon her husband’s retirement from the Air Force, Peru, IN became their home.  She was a member of the Peoria Church, the Peoria Church Women’s Group and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

  Surviving are her children, Claudia Walker, Phoenix, AZ.  Coleen (Fred) Grassmann of Centennial, CO.  Debbie Marschand, Bunker Hill, IN. and Todd (Lorra) Ensign, Greenwood, IN., grandchildren Kara (Geno) Ruiz, Rochelle (Joe) Haskins, Andre Crihfield, Russell (Helen) Marschand, Heather Marschand, Shannon Crihfield, Alex Grassmann, Ryan Walker, Christian (Amanda) Ensign, Christa Ensign, Jonathon (Samantha) Ensign, Joshua Ensign and Christopher Ensign, a sister Karla Edmonson of Oscoda, MI., nineteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

   She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth and a sister Shirley Rodgers.

   A service celebrating the life Jeannette Mae Ensign will be held at 5:00PM Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Peoria Church, 5575 E. 325 S. Peru, IN. with Pastor Brian Daniels officiating.  Burial will be in the Peoria Cemetery.  Family and friends will gather from 3:00-5:00PM Saturday at the Peoria Church.

  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Peoria Church.
