James L. Kepner, 58, of Peru, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 6, 2025. He was born in Peru, IN on February 26, 1967 to Samuel & Kathleen (Miller) Kepner. Jim married Yvonne Swander on September 13, 1997 and she survives. Jim was a 1985 graduate of Peru High School and attended Franklin College. Upon his return to Peru, he spent the remainder of his life working for Woodcrest Manufacturing and after their closure was then welcomed into the family at Thrush. He enjoyed fishing, Space X, Indy and Nascar but above all was a football lover. Forever, Michigan, Go Blue! Surviving, in addition to his wife, Yvonne, are his mother, Kathleen Kepner, mother-in-law, Elaine Swander, sister Lisa (Josh) Haynes and brother Jason (Kayla) Kepner. Sister-in-laws, Karen Swander and Lisa White. Nieces and nephews Michelle, Michael, Tracy, George, Jason Jr (Betheny), Angel (Dustin), Tammy, Savannah, James (Loren) Meyer, Victoria (Caleb) White, Kathryn (Nick) Szalay many great nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Boxley Blue. Preceding him in death were his father, Sam, his grandparents Glenn & Agnes Miller, Richard & Maxine Kepner and Uncle Glenn ‘Mike’ Miller. A gathering of family and friends will be held on March 14, 2025 from 3pm to 7pm at Eddy Funeral Homes, 84 W Main St. Peru, IN. Services immediately following by Pastor Pete McGuire from Apostolic Christian Church, Tipton, IN.
