Hazel Knight, 78, of Peru, adoring wife and loving mother and grandmother, passed away at 11:06p.m. at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Aberdeen, WA, on June 7, 1945, the daughter of Stanley and Hazel (Hathaway) Higgins. She married Rex E. Knight in Pacific Beach, WA on July 7, 1968, and he survives.
Hazel was a 1965 graduate of Moclips High School, Moclips, WA and she attended Zion Chapel. She was retired from United Tech. Hazel loved sharing her love and time with her family and enjoyed spending the last years of her retirement with her husband and enjoying her two great grandchildren playing. She volunteered over 20 years with helping hands and donated much of her time and love to other charities. She loved to cut grass and help around the farm home and can food from the home grown gardens each year. She will be greatly missed and so loved from afar till we meet again.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Rex, are sons Keith (Lacey) Knight of Logansport, Kenneth (Katrina) Knight of Logansport and Karl Knight of Peru; grandchildren Rebeckah Reichert, Travis Knight, Mickinzie Knight, Charles Knight, Jonathan Knight, Kyle Knight and Kaden Knight; great-grandchildren Emma Rose Reichert and Micah Reichert and a brother Chuck Higgins of CO. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Stanley Higgins, Jr.
A service celebrating the life of Hazel Knight will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, January 5, 2024, at the Zion Chapel, 915 S. Broadway, Peru with Pastor Rod Correll officiating. Burial will follow at Ever Rest Memorial Park, Logansport. Family and friends will gather from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M., Friday at the Zion Chapel.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, Peru.
