Harold Walter Wissman Jr. (55) went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 24th, 2019 at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Harold (aka Harlo) was born April 19th, 1964 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He graduated from Greenfield Central High School in 1982. He served 10 years in the United States Airforce and is a veteran of the Gulf War. He worked at Grissom Air Force Base in the 305th Field Maintence Squadron. He also worked 25 years at the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier. Harlo never met a stranger and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was the life of the party and lit up any room he entered. He loved his career as a mailman and socializing with his coworkers as well as the people on his route. He also loved cooking, tinkering on cars, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Nelly Rosalejos Wissman, sons Harold (Courtney) Walter Wissman III (aka Harley) and Tyler (Sarah) Wissman, stepson Melchor (Ginger) Coleman, and grandchildren Abigail, Lilly, Charley, Josey, Wesley, Amelia, Madeline, Melchor Jr., Jake Ryan, Violet Joy, Ginger Renee, and John Luke. He is also survived by his three sisters, Teresa Gable, Janet (Tom) Neal, and Sandra (Sam) Wheeler, as well as brother-in-law Kevin (Susan) Mcclafferty. He also has several nieces and nephews, cousins, and countless friends that he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Mary Wissman, nephew Logan Stephens, and his best friend Jim Lemons. A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 6th at Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home 84 West Main St., Peru, Indiana, from 4-7 P.M. with a Pray Service following at 7 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Charles Catholic Church, 58 West 5th St., Peru, IN at 11:30 A.M., Sunday, July 7th with Father Adam officiating. A Veteran burial will take place at 11:00 A.M., Monday, July 8th at the Marion National Cemetery in Marion, IN with full Military Honors provided by members of the Miami County Military Rites Unit. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the Miami County Military Rites Unit.
