George W. Wix, Jr.

George W. Wix, Jr., 58, of Peru, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Gary, IN, the son of George W. and Willie Pearl (Carter) Wix. George married Debra Purnell on February 10, 1997 and she survives. George was an avid Colts fan and a member of the First Assembly of God. Being retired, George spent his free time with the high light of his life, his grandchildren. Surviving in addition to his wife, Debra, are his children Cheyenne Wix, Peru, Johathan Purnell, Peru, Thomas (DeAera) Clinkenbeard, Peru and Brittany Masters, Peru; grandchildren Tai’lynn, Aliannah, Kyrian and Alya Jean and 16 brothers and sisters. A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at the First Assembly of God, 365 Monroe Ave, Peru. In lieu of flowers, love offerings may be made to the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home to help the family offset funeral expenses.
