George S. Beresh

George Sigmund Beresh, 83, of Peru, passed away at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Wanfried, Germany on September 21, 1942, the son of Alexander and Hedwig Grabe Beresh. George was a 1963 graduate of Peru High School and owned and operated Beresh Heating and Cooling. George is survived by his former wife Linda Whicker; stepson Adam Black and his wife Cindy; grandchildren Ashley Douglas and her husband Blake, Alexandra DeWar and her husband Brian, and Kyle Black; great-grandchildren Camden Douglas and Eli Douglas; several nieces and nephews; and siblings Suzanne Alfrey and her husband Jerry, Barbara Wissmiller and her husband Duane, and John Beresh. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a stepson Aaron Black. A graveside service will be held on at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the Reyburn Cemetery, Peru, IN, with Fr. Gustavo Lopez officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Scratching Post Cat Rescue, Inc.
