Freeman A Herschberger

Freeman A. Herschberger, 74, of Converse, IN passed away at 4:16 PM, Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at his residence. He was born in Peru, IN on November 27, 1948, the son of Andy and Rosa Gingerich Herschberger. Freeman married Ruth Graber on September 3, 1970, and she survives.

Freeman was a member of the Bethany Fellowship Church and retired Miami County farmer. His most treasured role was serving his family as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and he will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

Surviving in addition to his wife Ruth are his children Elvin (Beth) Herschberger of Amboy, IN, David (Stephanie) Herschberger of Peru, Mariann (Mike) Helmuth of Arthur, IL, Rosalynn (Mark) Helmuth of Kokomo, IN and Joanna (David) Bontrager of Kokomo; grandchildren Zachary Herschberger, Kalyn Breitweiser, Chloe Herschberger, Triston Herschberger, Zackery Case, Joseph Ferry, Emily Herschberger, Quinten Helmuth, Lindsey Helmuth, Caiden Helmuth, Blain Helmuth, Mykenzie Helmuth, Olivia Helmuth, Dayne Helmuth, Cohen Helmuth, Alana Bontrager, Elecia Bontrager, Braily Bontrager and Kambry Bontrager; great grandchildren Adelyn Breitweiser, Rome Breitweiser, Ava Herschberger and Baylee Herschberger; and siblings Eugene Herschberger, Emory (Ida) Herschberger, Raymond (Kathryn) Herschberger, Andrew (Barbara) Herschberger, Jr., Lloyd (Darlene) Herschberger, Mary (Ivan) Gingerich, Irene Herschberger and Elsie (Roger) Hershberger.

A service celebrating the life of Freeman A. Herschberger will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Kokomo Zion Church, 5051 E. 400 N., Kokomo, with Arlin Beachy and Darlton Bontrager officiating. Burial will be in Christner Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday at the church.
