Esther E. (Townsend) Russell

Esther Elizabeth (Townsend) Russell, 86, of Peru, passed away at 7:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Aperion Care, Peru. She was born in Miami County, IN on July 30, 1937, the daughter of William D. and Esther (See) Townsend. Esther married Robert D. Townsend, Sr. then later married Robert Russell and he preceded her in death. Surviving are her children Robert D. (Carrie) Townsend, Jr., Peru, James W. (Karen) Townsend, Peru and Scott W. Townsend, Peru; a granddaughter Kimberly Townsend; a great-grandchild Khanna Morris and a sister Barbara Townsend (John) Hughes, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter-in-law Pam Townsend and siblings Mary Cundiff, Kay Townsend, George Townsend and Howard Townsend. Honoring Esther’s wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Indiana Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, 355 W. 16th Street, Suite 4100, Indianapolis, IN 46202. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, Peru.
