Edwina Beck, 103, a lifelong resident of Peru, Indiana, unexpectedly went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 21, 2026. She was born May 24, 1922, to Clinton and Mercedes Newell Eikenberry. Edwina married Richard A. Beck on September 10, 1941 and he preceded her in death on February 9, 2004.
Edwina graduated from Jefferson Township High School and later attended business college. She began her career as a bookkeeper at the Peru Elevator before serving many years with the Peru City Clerk Treasurer’s Office, where she eventually retired.
A member of the Mexico Riverside Church, Edwina’s faith remained an important part of her life. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and to many parts around the world, always appreciating new experiences and adventures. She was an avid bridge player who loved both the strategy of the game and the companionship of her many friends. Edwina was also a proud member of the Boomerang Sisterhood, a Women’s Giving Circle in Miami County dedicated to supporting local charities and community projects.
Edwina especially cherished time spent with family and friends, whether sharing meals, working crossword puzzles, or enjoying games and conversation together. She was also a loyal fan of the Indiana Pacers and the Indianapolis Colts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Beck; her son, Timothy Beck; her parents, Clinton and Mercedes Eikenberry; and her brother, Herman Eikenberry.
Edwina is survived by her daughter, Cassandra Piscopo of Orlando, Florida; daughter-in-law, Mary Beck of Peru, Indiana; grandchildren Stephanie Blodgett (James) of Binghamton, New York, Deirdre Danek of Johnson City, New York, Clinton Beck of Fishers, Indiana, and Brett Beck of Fishers, Indiana; as well as four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Edwina will be remembered for her kindness, strength, sharp mind, faith, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her presence and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In honoring of Edwina Beck’s wishes, there will be a private family service held at a later date.
