Edwin Marvin Maus, 93, of Peru, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at his residence, with his daughter Julieann and granddaughter Leanna by his side. He was born in Peru on
August 24, 1927, the son of Marvin L. and Beulah Warner Maus. Edwin married Carol Jeanne Fuqua on January 20, 1952 in Main Street United Methodist Church, Peru, and she preceded him in death on November 23, 2018.
Edwin enlisted in the Army following his graduation from Peru High School in 1945. His military decorations include the WWII Victory Medal. Following release from the Army in 1947, Edwin graduated from Ft. Wayne Business College in 1949 where he studied Accounting. He was employed by Hausske-Harlen Furniture Manufacturing for 16 years and Chrysler Transmission, Kokomo for 23 years, retiring in 1988.
Edwin was an avid basketball and football fan, loved the Colts, IU sports and Peru High School basketball games that he attended for many years. He enjoyed traveling with his daughter and her family. Edwin enjoyed raising roses for many years and spending time with his family. He was a member of Parkview United Methodist Church. Edwin was an especially caring and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Surviving is a daughter Julieann Vandagriff and her husband David of Atlanta, GA and a son Michael Maus and his wife Andrea of Peru; grandchildren Meredith (Stephen) Vaughn, Melanie Maus, Andrew Vandagriff and Leanna Vandagriff; great-grandchildren Lilianna Grace Maus and Cora Jeanne Maus and his kitty “Oreo”. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Carol, a son Brian Maus, a brother Rolland Maus and a sister Orel Anabelle Maus.
Due to Covid-19, there will be a Private Service at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main St, Peru, with Rev. Bette Thompson and Rev. J. Robert Clark officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico, IN with Military Honors provided by the Miami County Military Rites Unit. The Service will also be live streamed on Facebook at Eddy Funeral Homes, Inc.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home to the Parkview UMC or the Miami County Helping Hands.
