Dorothy (Siddall) Higgins

Dorothy Jean Higgins, 93, of Peru passed away at 8:50 AM, Saturday, October 31, 2020 at the Blair Ridge Health Campus. She was born in Pulaski County, IN on January 8, 1927 the daughter of William Ray and Goldie Nickels Siddall. Jean married William L. Higgins in Logansport, IN on October 10, 1952 and he preceded her in death on April 4, 2014.

Jean was a 1946 graduate of Lucerne High School and a member of the First Baptist Church in Peru where she was the kindergarten Sunday School teacher for many years. She was an avid golfer, a member of the Miami County Golf Association and a former member of the Dukes Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Jean was employed by the Miami-Cass County REMC for more than 25 years retiring as Office Manager in 1987.

She is survived by a son, Steven Higgins of Peru and a daughter Marla Butler of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, a son-in-law James Butler, a brother Dale Siddall and sisters Maryella Godfroy and Arlene Vassey.

A private funeral service for Dorothy Jean Higgins will be held at the First Baptist Church, 53 E. Main St., Peru with Pastor Robert Adelsperger officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made through the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home to Premier Hospice.
