David Brian Reed

David B. Reed, 56, of Logansport went to his heavenly home at 10:18 PM, Thursday, July 8, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. David was born in Peru, IN, on December 1, 1964 the son of Joyce (Reed) Doty and the late Bill L. Reed.

David graduated from Peru High School in 1983 and soon after moved to Logansport, IN. He was a hard working man who was known for his reliability and dedication. He was an avid coin collector and loved to metal detect. He loved the 4th of July and lighting up the sky with fireworks. He was also a huge Colts and Pacers fan. David also was very passionate about all things space related, rocket launches, jets, airplanes and watching thunderstorms. Above all, he was a family man and his children were his life. He was completely devoted to his children and even up until his time of death he was still doing what he could to help his kids.

Surviving in addition to his mother, Joyce Doty, are his children Kyle Reed, Lyndsey Reed and Brandon Reed all of Logansport; his step son Eric Schrum of Logansport; his grandchildren, whom he adored, Aspen, Alexia, Ethan and Aiden Reed, Mikaela and Thea Callaway,  a granddaughter due in October, Bristol Briannah; his sisters Ginger (Neil) Hughes of Peru, Tami (Keith) Emerick of Kokomo and Sherri (David) Doty of Logansport and a brother Jeff (Lori) Reed of Peru. He was preceded in death by his father Bill Reed, a brother Bill Reed and a sister Joyce Reed.

A service celebrating the life of David B. Reed will be held on Wednesday, July 14 at 2:00 PM at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St., Peru with Pastor Patricia Frederick officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from Noon – 2:00 PM prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made through Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home to the American Cancer Society or the Guardian Angel Hospice.
