David Fowler Obituary

David E. Fowler, 73, of Peru passed away at 4:35 PM, Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the Life Care Center in Rochester, IN. He was born in Baltimore, MD on June 14, 1947 the son of Robert M. and Margaret Morris Fowler. David married Charveewan “Wee” Meengern on February 13, 1973 and she survives.

 

David was a retired  U.S. Air Force Non Commissioned Officer and a Vietnam War Veteran. His military decorations include the Air Force Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Air Force Achievement Medal, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with one oak leaf cluster, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with five oak leaf clusters, the National Defense Service Medal,  the Vietnam Service Medal,  the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon with one oak leaf cluster, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with four oak leaf clusters, and the NCO Professional Military Education Graduation Ribbon. He was a member of the Miami County VFW Post 2067.

 

David’s greatest joys in life were his wife and his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and loved his family unconditionally.

 

Surviving in addition to his wife Wee is a son, James Fowler and his wife Melissa of West Lafayette, IN, grandchildren Megan Fowler and Juliette Fowler and sisters Kathy Sousa and Karen Fowler.

 

David was preceded by his parents and brothers Robert Fowler and Eddie Fowler.

 

Military Honors will provided by the Miami County Military Rites Unit at 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St., Peru, IN. Burial will be at the Marion National Cemetery.
